Two Styles of Tiffany Aching

Description

I just decided to draw Tiffany Aching, the main character of Terry Pratchett's book, Wee Free Men.

Why did I draw two of her in two different styles? I don't know. I just wanted to see if it was possible.

I've often said that I don't have a style of my own (I'm still searching for mine). I merely borrow and assimilate styles that I see.

However, if I were to pick a style that I think comes most naturally to me, I'd say it was the one on the left (the one of Tiffany hefting her signature frying pan). In this sketch, I wanted her pose to emphasize the weight of the pan.

The style on the right was strongly influenced by the work of various comic artists. I gave her a butter churn because I didn't want to have to draw two frying pans. Tiffany was a dairymaid, after all. While I am aware that she was known for her cheeses, I had no idea how to draw an old-fashioned cheese-making thingy.

In any case, this was purely for fun and I enjoyed drawing this character very much!

Tiffany Aching belongs to Terry Pratchett.
